WilCAP has been dissolved – September 2012

On Monday 24th September at an EGM the steering group of WilCAP made the decision to dissolve the partnership.  A vote in favour was carried and the CAP wound up with immediate effect.

Many of the Steering Group members are heavily involved with other community organisations on a voluntary basis including Parish Councils, Community Shops and the EcoPark and felt they did not have time to commit to the CAP.

Earlier this year Wilcap co-hosted (with Tapcap and the Area Board) a successful community event which looked at the JSA (Joint Strategic Assessment) Data for the area http://www.intelligencenetwork.org.uk/local-area-profiles/.  It is felt a more productive way forward in Community Planning would be to create networks across the Wilton area that bring people together on a task & finish basis to work on specific projects that address the issues highlighted at this event.  One of these priorities was the high levels of Asthma sufferers in the area and a couple WilCAP members will continue to work on this.

The new Community Blogsite has been launched for the South West Wiltshire Community Area http://southwestwilts.ourcommunitymatters.org.uk/ and this will help in connecting the community and informing people of current issues and events.

The grant funding that had been allocated to WilCAP from the Area Board will be returned and redirected to other community initiatives.
